The cabin Heim lies in a grove of birch and pine with a view to the lake Vinjevatn and the mountains beyond. Heim is a large,well-built log cabin; the outer siding is traditional board and batten, indoors the cabin has been furnished to a high standard. Living room, room with a fireplace and a massive, long table, a modern, fully equipped kitchen, 4 bedrooms with room for 9 people, new bathroom with shower and toilet. Original art of high quality on the walls and good literature on the bookshelves.
Heim belongs to the Jordi farm, between Plassen and the Vinje Church. Six skilled brothers built the cabin in 1934 for the former Lutheran minister in Vinje, Halfdan W. Freihow. He gave the cabin its name «Home», to emphasize the strong ties he and his family had to the area. The farm has its basis in sheep raising (multicolored «spæl»sheep) and logging. In addition, Kari produces ecologically grown herbs and vegetables for sale, and Arne is an author.
