Raulandsakademiet is situated in the small village of Rauland at the foot of the Rauland Mountains near the Hardanger plateau. We offer modest and affordable rooms all year-round surrounded by cultural activity and opportunity for excursions.
Raulandsakademiet is known for preserving Norway's traditional culture through hands-on workshops. 'The Academy,' as it's called, offers numerous courses throughout the year in a variety of traditional skills - from singing to baking, woodworking, weaving, jewelry making and much more!
Spend a weekend in Rauland learning a new skill and preserving immaterial cultural heritage! You can learn new skills to make traditional objects from scratch.
20. September 11am - 4pm
Join us for the Autumn Farmers' market at Raulandsakademiet! The courtyard will be filled with stands selling organic vegetables, apples and more! In addition to two bakeries and the craft shop, our café will be open and offering coffee, stew, giant waffles, and a variety of locally made consumables. Don't miss the flea market on the edge of the courtyard!
Welcome to Telemarkstunet! Make yourself comfortable in this welcoming open-air museum. The courtyard is surrounded by reconstructions of old wooden buildings from around Rauland. This is the place for travellers to take a rest and families to play.
On Saturdays we offer short courses in the teaching kitchen. Free concerts every saturday and sunday at 2pm.
