Course Info for 2013
Summer Course Information for 2012
Once again we present a new catalogue with many new offerings. You will find several well-known courses, but also many new ones. Most of our courses are available for English speakers. We are able to offer weekend courses in the autumn for those unable to attend summer courses. We also offer shorter courses during the summer. As always we offer a number of food courses including traditional cooking and baking courses.
I hope you will find a course that suits you! Do you know anyone who would like to receive our catalogue? If so, please give us his or her name and address and we will be happy to send one!
Ann Mari Jore
Information about the courses:
Most courses are open for English speakers.
Nearly all our teachers understand and speak English; however, unless stated otherwise in the course description, the course will be taught primarily in Norwegian. If in doubt, e-mail or call us regarding language questions for specific courses.
We offer several courses simultaneously so as to allow couples and others to attend different courses at the same time. The summer courses start at 19.00 Monday. After receiving the necessary information, the courses will continue until 21.00.From Tuesday to Saturday, the lessons will be from 08.30 to 16.00.The course ends Sunday 12.00. The workshops will be open till 22.15.
The weekend courses start Thursday at 19.00, continue Friday and Saturday 08.30- 16.00, ending Sunday 12.00. Some short courses last from Monday evening till Thursday.
Participants must purchase necessary materials, but are of course free to bring their own equipment if they wish. A list over all materials and equipment needed will be sent to all of those signed up for a course. You will also find all other necessary information on the list.
There are several available recreational activities: hiking, swimming in the lake, boat trips, fishing, canoeing and horseback riding. There are several art collections and exhibitions in the district, open to viewers.
Give a course as a gift.
We need the name of the lucky person and who is going to pay. After that we will mail you our special card.
From morning till night.
Breakfast is at 07.30. We then meet in Vesaas-salen for information about the day’s activities. Each course will be asked to contribute with a song, poem, a good story, or something similar. Workshop till lunch, 12.00. Then again workshop until 16.00. It will then be served a meal consisting of fruit, coffee and tea. After that there will be arranged a mountain hike, a trip to an art gallery or something along those lines. Dinner will be served at 18.30. The workshops will be closed 22.15. There will be arranged lectures occasional nights for those who wish to attend. The last night of the course, things made at the different courses will be exhibited. There will also be extra entertainment this night. The autumn courses follow the same schedule as the summer courses.
