Tradition
Rauland is well known for preserving its traditional culture, and it is the objective of Raulandsakademiet to present an educational and activity based curriculum rooted on the best aspects of that culture.
Courses
We offer courses in handicrafts of many descriptions in addition to such things as log cabin building, bookbinding, photography and many others.

Telemark University College
In Raulandsakademiet, you can find Telemark University College, faculty of Folk Culture, educating students in folk arts and folk music. The faculty offers a Master’s degree in Traditional Art, two semester degrees in academic discipline, three-year Bachelor’s degrees, and studies in Traditional Food. www.hit.no

Telemarkstunet
Telemarkstunet consists of several buildings, all copies of local old, traditional buildings. At Telemarkstunet you can find buildings with different functions, everything from a stable to a traditional bakery.
Every summer the buildings are open for visitors. You will find a shop with Norwegian art and crafts, a small traditional bakery, a café serving traditional food, coffee, cakes etc, and different workshops, silver smith, woodcarver etc. You can feed the goats or try some of the other activities on Telemarkstunet, walk on stilts etc.
