Rauland is located on the roof of Telemark.
The road E 134 from Drammen to Haugesund across Haukelifjell makes Rauland and Hardangervidda National Park one of Norways most accesible mountain regions in Norway.
Rauland is well connected with roads from Oslo, Sandefjord and Larvik in the east, Kristiansand to the south and Stavanger, Haugesund and Bergen in the west.
